Hi Joel! Thank you so much for reading. :) I address moving to other parts of the country when I say we’re daydreaming about moving to Oregon or Michigan. Please also note a couple of things:

• jobs are often harder to find in cheap places, which is why so many of us live in NYC, LA, etc — it’s where the jobs are!
• pay in a place like NYC or LA is going to be somewhat higher than if I did a similar job in Ohio.
• the data on how millennials can’t afford homes isn’t specific to expensive coastal areas. I link to some sources that go into further detail in the story, if you’d like to take a look!
